Do you ever notice how we sometimes put up invisible walls in our lives? Maybe it’s avoiding that neighbor who sees the world a little differently or sticking with the same group of friends who share our views. It’s easy to stay in our comfort zones, isn’t it? But what if those walls are actually keeping us from something more meaningful?

This week, a friend of mine shared a story that really struck me. She was at the grocery store and bumped into someone we hadn’t seen in years—someone we used to have pretty strong disagreements with. Her first instinct was to look the other way and keep moving, but something nudged her to say hello instead. They ended up having a really nice conversation, catching up on life. And you know what? It reminded me that sometimes we build walls where there really don’t need to be any.

This got me thinking about this Sunday’s sermon in our Journey with Jesus: Adventures in Faith series, called Faith Quest: Crossing Borders. We’ll be looking at a story from Mark 7:24-37, where Jesus steps out of his comfort zone—crossing cultural and religious lines—to help someone in desperate need. The woman he meets also pushes through her own barriers, showing a faith that leads to an unexpected miracle.

This week’s message is all about breaking down the borders we create, whether they’re between us and others or even between us and God. It’s a challenge for us to step out in faith, reach across those divides, and see what happens when we’re willing to connect with others, even those we might usually shy away from.

If you’ve ever felt like there are invisible walls in your life—whether with a neighbor, a coworker, or even within yourself—this is a message you won’t want to miss. Let’s come together this Sunday to explore what it means to live a faith that crosses borders.  Maybe we can all take a step toward breaking down some of those walls together.

See you Sunday!
