Lenten Resources
Vespers: A Lenten Contemplative Service
Join us for Vespers, a peaceful, candlelit worship experience on Wednesdays at 6 PM during Lent, beginning on Ash Wednesday. This contemplative service features prayer, music, and brief readings, creating space for quiet reflection without a sermon. Step away from the busyness of life and find rest in God’s presence.
Coins for Lent: A Simple Act of Giving
Lent invites us to reflect on how we can care for others. This season, set aside spare change as an act of generosity, involving the whole family in collecting coins to donate to Broad Street UMC after Easter. Use the “Coins for Lent Giving Calendar” to make giving a daily practice—because even small acts of kindness can make a big difference!
Lenten Devotional: Lift Up Your Voice
“All of creation is a song of praise to God,” wrote St. Hildegard of Bingen—a reminder that music connects us to deep truths of faith. Our Lenten devotional, Lift Up Your Voice, explores the spiritual richness of hymns and sacred songs, offering weekly reflections on scripture, music, and ways to engage in this season of renewal—individually, with family, or in community. To request a printed copy, contact the church office. This Lent, may we slow down, listen, give, and lift our voices in worship as we prepare our hearts for Easter.
Lenten Bible Study
Join us for a Lenten Bible Study featuring The Hardest Part by Kate Bowler, a powerful exploration of faith, suffering, and hope. This study invites us to reflect on the challenges of life and how God’s grace meets us in our hardest moments. We will meet on Wednesdays at 9 AM from March 12th – April 9th on the second floor of Lake Mountain Coffee. Please bring your Bible, and consider using the daily devotional that accompanies the study for deeper reflection. Rev. Carrilea Hall will be leading the study on March 26th. 📖 Access the daily devotional here: The Hardest Part Devotional All are welcome to join this meaningful journey through Lent!
