On Good Friday, April 18, churches across the country will ring their bells in honor of the 250th anniversary of the historic “two if by sea” lantern signal at Old North Church in Boston.
Broad Street United Methodist Church will join in this nationwide commemoration by ringing its bell, echoing the moment Paul Revere began his midnight ride on April 18, 1775. Revere’s ride marked a pivotal call to action—one of the first and loudest cries for American independence from Great Britain, more than a year before the Declaration of Independence was signed.
By ringing our bell at 6 PM on Good Friday, we join in remembering this defining moment in our nation’s history, while also lifting up the timeless message of hope and courage that continues to inspire.
